But perhaps try a factory reset first and keep an eye on the apps you install or restore. It may just be easier to warranty exchange it if that's an option. You can apply a different carrier firmware and not apply one of the partitions to accomplish this but look into it first. But considering factory images aren't available for AT&T branded phones, that's not really an option. I'm fairly new to Samsung, but whatever their equivalent to flashing the factory image (not an over the air update) would be best. If rooted or unlocked bootloader, you'd have to go as far as flashing the firmware, just applying a basic OTA won't necessarily do it either. If it's actual malware, you'll have to factory reset. You can use that info to find the app doing it possibly and uninstall it. It's likely that the one installing them is using the same publisher or app naming format (like _name). If they're in fact apps and not bookmarks, I'd explore the app infor to find a common publisher if possible. Normally, you still need to press the OK type of buttons still, but if the app has the ability to overlay the screen and input touch responses, it won't need your manual input. A) they're not games but rather browser bookmarks saved as icons (would not go through an uninstall process if you get rid of them) and they link you to download the game when you open them since Google has security measures in place to prevent rogue installs.ī) your phone is infected with malware, either from installing an app from the internet as opposed to from the Play Store (though, the Play Store isn't entirely safe either), an ad popped up from a browser or in app tricking you to install something you shouldn't have that infected your phone, or you unlocked the bootloader or also rooted the phone which opens doors for malware to get in (still uncommon though).Ĭ) One of the apps you granted permission to install apps is installing these apps.
